Orientation week 2013/2014 – Medical University of Varna

Orientation week

The Orientation week is organized by the University at the beginning of each academic year to help the students during their first days in Varna. During these days, any doubts or questions that first year students may have are answered and explained: registration and enrolment at the University, academic information, how to open a bank account, which telephone provider to choose, etc.

In order to monitor the correct adaptation of all our students and to give them more practical information, the DEM team has been present during all the orientation week. All our international students have already arranged their accomodation and are perfectly adapted to their new university life.

On 25 September the orientation week started with the Opening Ceremony, where all the students could get an answer to almost all their doubts. The “older” students and the student association gave also emotional speeches which were of a great interest for those present there. The conferences ended with the welcome party.

On 26 September there was a visit to the facilities and buildings of the Universty, as well as to St. Marina Hospital, where medical practices are undertaken.

On the 27, 28 and 29 we held a trip through the old capital of Bulgaria. On the 27 we visited the citiy of Veliko Tarnovo, where we had the opportunity to admire the night light show in the castle of the city. On the 28 we moved to the city of Tryavna and on the way there we stopped in Shipska Peak and in the monastery of Sokolski. On the 29, on the way back to Varna, we had a look at the Bacho Kiro cave and the monastery of Dryanovo. The trip was very interesting and funny and, above all, it was very helpfull for the integration of the new students.
