The medical faculty of the University of Zagreb has received the “Certificate for Quality in Programme Internationalisation” for their medical studies program in English. For this received certificate we congratulate the faculty and university, although we were always sure, that our DEM students are always in good hands at the university.
The program medical studies in English has been assessed by the “Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education” (ASHE). They made their decision with an assessment panel, which also made a site visit of the medical faculty on April 15th last year, within this assessment process.
The internationalization of students, the university’s main goal, has therefore been fulfilled. The program of English medical studies in Zagreb is geared towards educating prospective doctors, who can practice internationally with intercultural understanding. Furthermore, students should be well prepared for the different challenges, that globalization brings, and they should also be able to use acquired skills for medical treatment and to handle the needs of international patients in their future job as a doctor. Thus, the medical faculty offers the best preparation for the international employment market.
The medical faculty of the University of Zagreb is the first faculty, in the biomedical area, ever, to receive this certificate from the European Consortium for Accreditation.
