Sports are a fundamental component in every university student’s life. The Charles University enjoys a long sports tradition marked by many victories of students and graduates. Therefore, each year the different schools of the university promote a wide range of sports activities – from popular ones like soccer and basketball to underwater rugby or Kan-Jam.

There are already many events that, after being celebrated year after year, have become tradition. For example the traditional Rector’s Sports Day, an opportunity for all students, Erasmus students and teachers to meet and participate in various activities both on and off the sport fields.

The RWTTC or “Running With Those That Cannot” is another popular event of the Charles University. Founded by students of the Third Faculty of Medicine, this charity run, that is part of the Prague International Marathon, aims to help people with disabilities, erase social taboos that surround them and to contribute in providing them a longer and happier life. At the same time, students not only learn to be best mates, but to be better people and thus also better doctors.

University Heights, a run of eight universities in Prague, in which students compete for the best time, or the Motol Mile, an entertaining event open to everyone, are other examples that make up the traditional sports list, which the Charles University students should not miss.
